Croydon Carers Choir celebrates 4th birthday
Croydon Carers Choir are getting in the party atmosphere to celebrate their 4th birthday at the Carers Support Centre.
The community carers choir will celebrate the special occasion with favourite songs at the Carers Support Centre on Wednesday 10 October, 10.30am-11.45am.
The choir will also sing songs to celebrate Black History Month.
All carers are welcome to come and sing, and stay on for a birthday cuppa afterwards!
Since the first ever Croydon Carers Choir session on 1 October 2014, over 60 carers have attended these fun, friendly singing sessions.
One regular singer commented, “The choir creates a feeling of joy. When I come out I feel really liberated and feel that I can cope better.”
Members of the choir have taken part in several local community events, including Compassionate Neighbours choral events with St Christopher’s Hospice and joint performances of the Anthem for Peace with Anusha Subramanyam's Carers Dance Group for Croydon’s first ever Festival of Peace.
They also featured in the Fluid4Sight, What Does Peace Mean To You? photography exhibition.
Croydon carers are welcome to join in these friendly, fortnightly singing sessions on Wednesday mornings at the Carers Support Centre.
No singing experience or booking is required - just turn up and join in the fun!
Forthcoming October sessions are Wednesday 10 and 31 October, 10.30am - 11.45am.
