Thank you to everyone who took part in Carers Week and attended our annual Carers' Information Day in Croydon at Fairfield Halls. It was fantastic to see so many carers finding out what support is available to them. We were delighted that The Mayor Councillor Wayne Trakas Lawlor was able to attend and pledge his support for a carer friendly Croydon.
Carers are welcome to drop in Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm, for information and advice.
The Carers Café is open every Monday to Friday, 10.30am – 12.30pm and is supported by a team of volunteers. Whilst in the Café, carers can have free refreshments, read or take away books and magazines, and access Wi-Fi. We also host a number of regular events in the Café.
Membership of the Carers Support Centre means carers can access the Carers Cafe, get discounts at local shops and eateries, and provides a useful proof of caring status.
The Carers Support Centre hosts regular advice surgeries on topics such as Debt, Welfare Benefits, Mental Health, and Special Educational Needs.
We produce a regular newsletter, Carers News.
We also publish a monthly e-bulletin, What's New for Carers?
We provide free training and information sessions for carers living in Croydon. Topics include First Aid, Listening Skills, Dealing with Stress, and Moving and Handling.
Information and advice on any aspect of your caring role is available at the Carers Support Centre, or by calling the Carers' Information Service on 020 8649 9339, option 1, or emailing email@example.com.
